FAQ

DO YOU TRAVEL TO WEDDINGS?

Yes, I always will travel for love! This may incur an additional fee depending on your venue location, but ask me and we can talk about it!

WHAT HAPPENS AT THE FIRST MEETING?

The first meeting is a chance for me to get to know both of you, and a little bit more about the ceremony you are looking for.  It’s a very informal conversation, where you get a chance to meet me and see if I am going to be right for you. I know life is busy so more often than not our first meeting is either a phone chat or Zoom. If we can manage a face to face its usually in a cafe or a bar in Dunsborough – somewhere we can have a good chat and get a coffee or a wine.

IF I MEET WITH YOU, AM I OBLIGATED TO BOOK YOU?

Absolutely not!  While I certainly hope that you do like what I can offer, choosing the right celebrant is a very personal and important decision.  As such, all first meetings are completely obligation free.  If you do like what you see, you can secure your chosen date by paying a $400 deposit (either on the day or by direct deposit).

WHAT DOCUMENTS DO I NEED TO PROVIDE YOU?

Prior to your wedding, you need to complete and sign a Notice of Intention to Marriage.  I will normally complete this with you at one of our meetings.  This MUST be completed a minimum of one month before your wedding. I will need to cite verification of your identity and place and time of birth – normally through a passport or if you don’t have one a birth certificate and a form of photo ID.  If you don’t have either of these, please let me know and I can discuss other alternatives. Closer to the day (usually the rehearsal), you will also need to sign a declaration prior to the commencement of your ceremony.

DO YOU USE 'OFF THE SHELF' CEREMONIES?

No way! I pride myself on the fact that each and every ceremony script has been lovingly handcrafted to reflect the two of you and the love you share. Teamwork makes the dream work and I take the time to get to know you and hear your story so I can weave it into your ceremony. You will also get to read through the ceremony and make any adjustments, if needed, making sure you are 100% comfortable and happy with every word - leaving no room for surprises on the day! While there are some elements that are legal requirements to include in wedding ceremonies, I assure you that every ceremony is designed with you, for you.

VOWS - WRITE OUR OWN OR DO YOU HAVE SAMPLES WE CAN USE?

The thought of writing your own vows can be very overwhelming but please don’t let that stop you. I will be able to guide you through this process with loads of tips and tricks, making sure your vows are complementary (and fulfil legal obligations). However, if you prefer to go a little lower key I will happily provide you with some more generic samples that can be tweaked to suit your style and sentiment.

DOES YOUR FEE COVER THE USE OF A PA?

Yes! I want to make sure everyone can hear the awesome ceremony we have created, especially your vows. You will have use of my PA and wireless microphone on the day and I'm happy for you to play your ceremony music through it as well. You will just need to delegate the music job to a friend or relative.

WHAT WILL YOU WEAR?

I always ask you about your wedding’s style and colour scheme. This helps me to choose my outfit (generally a dress) to complement. If you have seen a picture of me on my socials in something you like please let me know, I'll be happy to accommodate.
